Elected members should be able to come forward and take part in the democratic process without fear of abuse.

I think that's why it's really clear, whether it's elected members, whether it's officers, that there is no space in our system for that.

It worries me, the growth in violence and intimidation that is levelled at our elected representatives, and this no doubt puts off a lot of people from standing.

Mae'n rhaid inni gofio hefyd fod gennym ni fel swyddogion etholedig, ein cefnogwyr a'n gwirfoddolwyr ran i'w chwarae yn y ffordd y rhyngweithiwn â'n gilydd, rhywbeth nad wyf yn credu bod rhai o'n cyd-Aelodau yma yn ei sylweddoli.

We also have to be minded that we as elected officials, our supporters and volunteers, have a role to play in how we interact with one another, something that I think some of our colleagues here don't realise.

Having a thicker skin is not the answer and that is not a message that we want to be sending out to people who are looking to stand for any elected office here in Wales.
