As you'll know, as a direct result of Labour's rise in national insurance, local authorities are being faced with a significant portion of a £72 million shortfall, only half of which is being made up for by the Labour Government.

The 2025-26 budget allocations were not sufficient to significantly improve the situation for the sector, especially in the context of inflationary pressures and rising employer national insurance contributions.

Because we hear time and time again, 'Partnership in power; things are changing.' Well, the Secretary of State for Wales said recently that she wasn’t aware of the shortfall caused by the national insurance contributions.

Felly, yn sicr, mae angen inni weld symud, ac mae angen inni weld Ysgrifennydd Gwladol Cymru yn sefyll dros Gymru go iawn, ac yn deall rhai o'r pethau sy'n heriol iawn yma yng Nghymru ar hyn o bryd.

So, surely, we need to see movement and we need to see the Secretary of State for Wales actually standing up for Wales, and also understanding some of the things that are proving really challenging here in Wales now.
