(2) Tiocfaidh an t-Acht so i bhfeidhm an túisce 'na rithfear é agus leanfa sé i bhfeidhm ar feadh sé mhí 'na dhiaidh sin agus raghaidh sé in éag ansan.

(2) This Act shall come into force immediately on the passing thereof and shall continue in force for six months thereafter and shall then expire.

Any appointment which is not ratified by the County Council at the meeting immediately succeeding the receipt of the report shall on the date of such meeting cease to be effective.

(6) When two or more surpluses arise from the same count the largest shall be first dealt with and the others shall be dealt with in the order of their magnitude.

Where the numbers of votes credited to such candidates were equal at all counts, the returning officer shall determine by lot which surplus he will first deal with.
