On the statutory framework that we will be developing—the consultation is closed on that and we're taking account of people’s views—I hope that that will lead to a more strategic approach across Wales, with local authorities working together with the third sector.

To build on the evidence we have heard to date, and to inform our evidence session in the autumn term, we will launch a consultation ahead of the summer recess to inform our scrutiny of the Welsh Government’s draft budget proposals.

There will also be an opportunity for us to discuss this consultation with members of the public at the Royal Welsh Show next week and at the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham.

This guidance will help align local plans, while enabling bodies to address specific challenges, such as interpreter shortages in health services, a major issue raised during the consultation.
