5 1° Ní cead laghdú a dhéanamh ar luach saothair breithiúna an fad is a bheidh siad in oifig ach amháin de réir an ailt seo.

5 1° The remuneration of judges shall not be reduced during their continuance in office save in accordance with this section.C1

2° Tá luach saothair breithiúna faoi réir gearradh cánacha, tobhach nó muirear eile a ghearrtar le dlí ar dhaoine i gcoitinne nó ar dhaoine a bhaineann le haicme áirithe.

2° The remuneration of judges is subject to the imposition of taxes, levies or other charges that are imposed by law on persons generally or persons belonging to a particular class.C1

(4) Déanfar luach saothair gach duine a ceapfar fén bhfo-alt deireannach san d'íoc as Ioncum an Údaráis Áitiúla san mar chuid de chostaisí an Údaráis Áitiúla san.

(4) The remuneration of all persons appointed under the foregoing sub-section shall be paid out of the revenue of such Local Authority as part of its expenses.C1
