2 1° Ní cead don Stát gairm uaisleachta a bhronnadh ar aon duine.

2 1° Titles of nobility shall not be conferred by the State.

152 2° Ní cead d’aon saoránach gairm uaisleachta ná gairm onóra a ghlacadh ach le haontú roimh ré ón Rialtas.

2° No title of nobility or of honour may be accepted by any citizen except with the prior approval of the Government.

(a) i gcás toghacháin ghenerálta, aon uair tar éis dáta an fhurógra le n-a bhfógrófar gairm an Oireachtais agus roimh dheire na haimsire a bheidh ceaptha chun ainmniúcháin do ghlaca;

( a ) in the case of a general election at any time after the date of the proclamation declaring the calling of the Oireachtas and before the expiration of the time appointed for receiving nominations;
