the new Articles 2 and 3 and the new section 8 in Article 29 are inserted pursuant to the provisions of the Nineteenth Amendment of the Constitution Act, 1998;B2

AIRTEAGAL 13 1 1° Ceapfaidh an tUachtarán an Taoiseach .i. an Ceann Rialtais nó an Príomh-Aire, arna ainmniú sin ag Dáil Éireann.

1 1° The President shall, on the nomination of Dáil Éireann, appoint the Taoiseach, that is, the head of the Government or Prime Minister.B2

3 1° Ní foláir Dáil Éireann a chomóradh agus a lánscor mar a shocraítear le halt 2 d’Airteagal 13 den Bhunreacht seo.

3 1° Dáil Éireann shall be summoned and dissolved as provided by section 2 of Article 13 of this Constitution.C1

7 Faoi chuimsiú na bhforálacha sin romhainn den Airteagal seo is de réir dlí a rialófar toghcháin do chomhaltas Dháil Éireann, mar aon le líonadh corrfholúntas.

7 Subject to the foregoing provisions of this Article, elections for membership of Dáil Éireann, including the filling of casual vacancies, shall be regulated in accordance with law.B2

3° Nothing in this Article shall be invoked to prohibit the dissolution by law of a university mentioned in subsection 1° of this section.C1
