cialluíonn an abairt “Toghachán Reachtúil” toghachán chun líona áiteanna comhairleoirí, coimisinéirí no ball cóluchta áitiúla a eireoidh as ar chríochnú a dtéarma oifige;

the expression "Statutory Election" means an election to fill the places of councillors, commissioners or members of a local body retiring on the expiration of their term of office;

cialluíonn an abairt “Dáta Ceaptha” an dáta a leagfaidh an t-Aire amach fén Acht so chun comóra na dtoghachán reachtúil chun na comhairle, chun an chóluchta coimisinéirí no chun an chóluchta áitiúla eile go mbaineann an abairt leis;

the expression "Prescribed Date" means the date prescribed under this Act by the Minister for the holding of the statutory elections to the council, body of commissioners or other local body to which the expression relates;

(a) a éileamh ar an duine sin teisteas beireatais do thespeáint no, maran féidir no maran oiriúnach san do dhéanamh, faisnéis reachtúil do dhéanamh ar an aos riachtanach do bheith ag an duine sin, agus

( a ) require that person either to produce a certificate of birth, or, if that is not practicable or convenient, to make a statutory declaration that such person has attained the required age, and

(b) a éileamh ar an duine sin teisteas eadóirseachta do thespeáint no faisnéis reachtúil do dhéanamh ar é do bheith ina shaoránach de Shaorstát Éireann.

( b ) require that person to produce a certificate of naturalisation or to make a statutory declaration that he is a citizen of Saorstát Eireann.
